About Parts Town
Parts Town was built from the ground up in 1987 with a team of just 5 people. The goal – to reinvent the restaurant equipment parts industry. 34 years later, it is one of the fastest growing parts distributors in the foodservice equipment industry and has 1000+ team members who support national and international customers.
Parts Town had chosen the Boomi iPaaS as its integration platform and kicked off the Boomi implementation with another partner, but was struggling to get strategic advice, consulting, and consistent implementation expertise that it expected. The Parts Town IT team was confident that Boomi was the right platform, and that they simply needed the right Boomi partner to make their integration and API initiatives a success.
After a careful search, XTIVIA was chosen and given a pilot integration project to prove its expertise. XTIVIA brought in its proven Boomi methodology and conducted various discovery and strategy sessions with the Parts Town team to lay a sound architectural foundation and establish Boomi implementation patterns and conventions—from component naming to folder structure to error handling and more. And then successfully delivered the pilot integration project on-time, on-budget. This gave Parts Town the confidence to embark on a large EDI initiative with XTIVIA to onboard over 35 trading partners over the next calendar year, and XTIVIA delivered on this with resounding success. This has then been followed by a major integration project involving replacement of the SYSPRO ERP system with SAP, and implementation of new integration processes with numerous other systems from warehouse management to order management and pricing. Intapp had chosen Boomi as its integration platform for its internal integration use cases, as well as established a partnership with Boomi to use Boomi as its preferred integration platform for its clients. They were looking to migrate existing integration processes from Intapp Integrate, Talend, and Workato to Boomi, as well as implement new integrations as part of an initiative to establish DealCloud as the system of record pushing and pulling data from their enterprise data warehouse/data lake. They were looking for a Boomi implementation partner that could work jointly with the Intapp business and IT teams to make their Boomi implementation a success.
Intapp - A Boomi Implementation Case Study
Intapp chose XTIVIA after an elaborate RFP process since they wanted a firm that could provide them the Boomi thought leadership and best practices that they were looking for and a team that would work closely with their internal resources and provide mentoring and knowledge transfer throughout the project lifecycle.
XTIVIA initiated the engagement with a kickstart phase where we worked jointly with the Intapp team to define the overall Boomi best practices and conventions, refined the project requirements and overall architecture, and assembled a project plan for the Boomi implementation. We then worked on the implementation phase in 2-week sprints, implementing various real-time, near real-time, and batch integration processes connecting a number of systems. We were agile in accommodating late-breaking business process changes, and worked closely with the Intapp business team during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase. The Boomi implementation with over 30 interfaces went live in a short period of ~4 months, and XTIVIA assisted Intapp with post go-live support, and integration process enhancements, as well as adding additional integrations.
