The platform

One engine for data, analytics, and AI.

Snowflake stopped being a data warehouse years ago. Consolidating your warehouse, lake, pipelines, and AI onto one governed platform is what makes the next three years cheaper than the last three.

One platform

Warehouse, lake, engineering, ML, AI, and apps on a single governed engine.

Elastic by design

Storage and compute scale separately, so one heavy job never starves another.

Open, not locked in

Iceberg tables and Polaris keep your data readable by other engines.

AI where the data is

Cortex runs against governed data with no copies and no shadow stack.

Snowflake services

From the first whiteboard to year three of running it.

Most clients start with one of these and grow into a longer partnership. Take the whole ladder or the one rung you are missing.

Strategy & Architecture

Where to start, what to move first, and how to model it — a defendable roadmap with real numbers attached.

Implementation

New account through first production workload: networking, RBAC, warehouses, environments, and CI/CD done properly.

Migration & Modernization

Teradata, Oracle, Netezza, Hadoop, Redshift, or Synapse to Snowflake. Code conversion, parallel runs, clean decommission.

Data Engineering

Openflow, Snowpipe Streaming, Dynamic Tables, dbt, and Snowpark. Pipelines your team can still read next year.

Cortex AI & Agents

Analyst, Search, Agents, AISQL, Document AI. From use case to production, with the evaluations and guardrails.

Cost & Performance

Warehouse right-sizing, query rewrites, clustering, resource monitors. We typically find 20–40% in the first month.

Data Apps & Products

Streamlit, Native Apps, and Container Services — internal tools and monetizable data products on one platform.

Governance & Security

Horizon Catalog, masking, row access policies, lineage, and audit — the work that gets compliance to sign off.

Managed Services

A retained Snowflake team for monitoring, on-call, FinOps, and ongoing delivery. Virtual-DBA® for the AI Data Cloud.

Product coverage

Every part of Snowflake, delivered by people who use it.

Snowflake ships faster than most teams can absorb. Here is the current surface area and where our architects have production experience.

Cortex AI

Analyst, Search, Agents, AISQL, and Document AI — LLM and agentic work on governed data, with no copies.

Snowflake Intelligence

The natural-language front door to your data. Business questions answered against governed semantic models.

Snowpark & Containers

Python, Java, and Scala in Snowflake, plus containerized apps and model servers inside the security perimeter.

Snowflake ML

Feature store, model registry, distributed training, and low-latency feature serving without leaving the platform.

Horizon Catalog

Governance built in — lineage, classification, masking, tag-based policy, data quality, and audit.

Openflow & Streaming

Managed Apache NiFi ingestion plus row-level Snowpipe Streaming. Hundreds of connectors, structured through multimodal.

Iceberg & Polaris

Open table formats with Snowflake-managed or external storage, and bidirectional read/write through Horizon.

Unistore & Postgres

Hybrid Tables for transactional workloads, plus fully managed Snowflake Postgres for operational applications.

Sharing & Marketplace

Zero-copy sharing, Snowgrid replication, multi-party clean rooms, and Native Apps you can list and monetize.

Cortex AI

Cortex in production, not Cortex on a slide.

Cortex puts models and agents next to your governed data, so there is no copy, no shadow stack, and no bolt-on vector store. The model was never the hard part.

Cortex Analyst

Natural-language questions answered in trusted SQL over a governed semantic model.

Cortex Search

Production semantic and hybrid retrieval over your documents — the RAG half that usually breaks.

Cortex Agents

Multi-step agents that read data, call tools, and finish work, with auditable guardrails.

AISQL & Document AI

Classify, extract, summarize, and translate text, images, audio, and video from SQL.

Our playbook: start with one valuable, measurable use case, deliver it in six to ten weeks, instrument it from day one, and only then group use cases into a platform. Teams that skip the single-use-case step almost always rebuild.

How we work

A four-phase engagement that de-risks the program.

Repeatable, sequenced, and priced in stages, so you can stop or change direction at any phase boundary without losing the work.

01

Assess

Discovery of the data estate, workloads, spend, and the deadline that actually matters.

02

Architect

Target Snowflake design, governance model, cost guardrails, and a sequenced roadmap.

03

Accelerate

Build and migrate in sprints using our accelerators, with something in production early.

04

Amplify

Enable your team, tune the spend, and scale into the next set of use cases.

Signature offering

Migrating onto Snowflake without stopping the business.

Teradata, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, Hadoop, Redshift, or Synapse — the destination is the same and so are the landmines. We have run this enough times to know where they sit.

  1. 01

    Assess and inventory

Every table, job, stored procedure, report, and downstream consumer on the incumbent platform — priced as a fixed-fee, four-week engagement so you have a real number before you commit.

  2. 02

    Design the target

Snowflake schema and warehouse design, RBAC and Horizon policy, environment strategy, and the ELT patterns that replace what you have. We modernize what is worth modernizing and leave the rest alone.

  3. 03

    Convert and prove

Automated SQL conversion for the bulk of the estate, hand-tuning for the rest, then one real workload under real load. If the numbers do not hold here, they will not hold at scale.

  4. 04

    Migrate in waves

Phased cutover with parallel runs and row-level reconciliation, so the business keeps reporting while the platform changes underneath it. No big-bang weekend.

  5. 05

    Optimize and decommission

Right-size the warehouses, tune the top queries, stand up resource monitors and chargeback, hand the runbook to your team, and turn the old hardware off.

Deployment

AWS, Azure, Google Cloud — or all three.

Snowflake runs natively on every major cloud, with Snowgrid keeping accounts in sync across regions. Which one is right usually depends more on your identity and FinOps footprint than on Snowflake.

Snowflake on AWS

PrivateLink, KMS, and IAM patterns we have run dozens of times, with Iceberg on S3 and Bedrock alongside Cortex.

Snowflake on Azure

Private Endpoint, Entra ID SSO and SCIM, Key Vault, and clean coexistence with Fabric and Power BI semantic models.

Snowflake on Google Cloud

Private Service Connect, Cloud KMS, and phased BigQuery coexistence when the migration has to happen gradually.

1Cortex pilot funded by savings

Off Teradata in nine months, with the AI roadmap funded by the savings.

A forty-year-old Teradata footprint was costing eight figures a year, engineering candidates kept turning the platform down, and the renewal date was twelve months out. AI projects were stuck waiting on data that took days to assemble.

XTIVIA ran a four-week fixed-fee assessment, then led the migration end to end: BTEQ and stored-procedure conversion, ELT rebuilt on Snowpark and dbt, a three-month parallel run, and decommission.

Full cutover in nine months at a 38% lower run-rate, with the first Cortex Analyst pilot live before the old hardware shipped out.

Member 360, provider data, and a governed Cortex pilot on one platform.

Claims, eligibility, and clinical data sat across four warehouses and three lakes. Member-facing teams could not get a unified view in under a day, and an AI summarization pilot had been approved before the data was ready for it.

XTIVIA consolidated the sources into Snowflake, modeled a member-360 schema, implemented Horizon masking and row access policies for PHI, and built a Cortex Search and AISQL pilot with a full audit trail.

Four warehouses became one, member summaries returned in under three seconds, and compliance approved the AI pilot on the first review.

A Snowflake cost runaway stopped, and a FinOps practice that stuck.

Snowflake spend had tripled in eighteen months with no clear answer about which workloads were paying for themselves. Leadership wanted a number and a plan, not another dashboard.

XTIVIA ran a two-week deep dive across warehouse usage, query patterns, storage, and clustering, then rewrote the forty most expensive queries, right-sized eight warehouses, and stood up resource monitors and chargeback tagging.

A 32% run-rate reduction in the first month, and an in-house team trained to run the FinOps program after we left.

Common questions

What people ask us in the first call.

Short answers below. The long answers are a conversation, and that conversation is free.

What is the Snowflake AI Data Cloud?

A single platform for data warehousing, data engineering, data lakes, data science and ML, AI through Cortex, data applications, and data sharing — running natively on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. One place for your data, your AI, and the applications that use both.

Is XTIVIA a Snowflake partner?

Yes. We are a Snowflake Services Partner with thirty years of enterprise data work behind us. Our architects hold current SnowPro certifications and deliver across every Snowflake product family — Cortex AI, Snowpark, Horizon, Openflow, Iceberg, Unistore, and the Marketplace.

How long does a Snowflake migration take?

For the first major workload, plan on four to nine months. Redshift and Synapse sources move faster; a fifteen-year-old Teradata estate with thousands of stored procedures takes longer. We run a four-week fixed-fee assessment up front so you have a real number before you commit to anything.

Can you reduce our Snowflake bill?

Most cost engagements find 20 to 40 percent in the first month — warehouse right-sizing, query rewrites, clustering and partitioning, materialized views, resource monitors, storage cleanup, and chargeback tagging. We work outcome-based, and we train your team to hold the savings after we leave.

Do you deliver Cortex AI in production, or only demo it?

In production. We have delivered Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, Cortex AISQL, and Document AI for real customers, with evaluations, guardrails, observability, and the audit trail compliance teams expect. The hard part is never the model — it is everything around the model.

Which clouds do you support?

All three that Snowflake runs on: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. We have done deep integration work on each, and we design cross-region and cross-cloud architectures with Snowgrid when replication or failover requires it.

Do you work with dbt, Airflow, and Fivetran?

Yes to all three. Most of our modern stacks use dbt for transformation — including dbt Projects running natively on Snowflake — with Openflow, Fivetran, or Snowpark for ingestion, and Airflow or Snowflake-native orchestration depending on what already lives in your environment.

Can you run our Snowflake practice for us?

Yes. Our managed services teams cover monitoring, on-call, FinOps, governance, feature delivery, and enablement — as a full center of excellence or as an extension of your existing team. It is the same practice behind Virtual-DBA®, applied to Snowflake.

How does an engagement start?

A thirty-minute working session with a senior architect. No slide deck. We ask about the source systems, the workload, the deadline, and the budget, and we tell you what we would do — including when the answer does not involve us.

Resources

Guides, success stories & briefs

Practical Snowflake material written by the architects who do the work, not by a content team.

Thirty minutes. No slides.

Tell us what you are working on and we will tell you what we would do, what it would cost, and how long it would take. Including when the answer is not us.
