ELIMINATING BOTTLENECKS OF TREASURY PROCESSES WITH A COMPREHENSIVE TEST SOLUTION

Our client is a global leader in digital industrial transformation, combining software-defined machinery with intelligent, connected, and predictive solutions. Operating across 56 countries, this multinational financial services conglomerate specializes in commercial lending and leasing, alongside a diverse portfolio that includes power generation, oil and gas, venture capital, renewable energy, and water resource management. Managing millions of dollars daily, the company serves thousands of business units, ensuring seamless customer commitments, treasury operations, and international bank transactions for letters of credit.

Challenge

Our client envisioned automating the management of cash pool agreements to eliminate the manual workload and reduce the time spent on paperwork within the Treasury team. The existing process relied on multiple email threads, document creation and tracking, and manual approval workflows. In addition, there was a lack of transparency and integration with other systems.
During the engineering of the automated cash pool agreements, we faced the following challenges:

  • Managing agreements through different lifecycle stages
  • Insufficient access control and permissions
  • Ongoing UAT support requirements and the need for a comprehensive training plan

Technical Solution

This project followed a Waterfall methodology, from analysis to production rollout and support. The XTIVIA team collaborated closely with Business SMEs through regular meetings to gather requirements and design comprehensive testing artifacts. The QA team focused on the following areas:

  • Documenting end-to-end functionalities and capturing detailed requirements
  • Designed the testing artifacts based on various interactive sessions with the client
  • Ensuring transparency and accountability by maintaining an organized Requirements Traceability Matrix for seamless tracking and closure.
  • Created an extensive dataset to evaluate various access roles, permissions, and their associated functionalities
  • QA Team had to test the application, execute functional test cases, and act as application users to ensure correct implementation in all scenarios
  • Supported the UAT team with a comprehensive UAT Plan and UAT Test Suite and mentored them during the User Acceptance Test
  • Delivered detailed application user manuals and training materials
  • Organized and led application demonstrations for the client to ensure a clear understanding of the system

BUSINESS RESULT

As a result of XTIVIA’s testing solution, the client could successfully launch the new web-based application with several features, including efficient CPA processing, elimination of bottlenecks, and reduction of paper wastage. In addition, the team was able to build the trust of the client’s Treasury team within a short period, leading to the success of this implementation and many more.
