Liferay Devops implementation at a global Fortune 500 engineering corporation

As part of this engagement, we helped a global engineering corporation with strategy and implementation around their Liferay DevOps methodology. The strategy engagement was broad in scope and spanned a wide array of topics, and ended up delivering a phased DevOps roadmap. From an implementation perspective, we took ownership of implementing the client’s Liferay and Solr environments on AWStools with high availability. We automated the provisioning process to make it easier to spin up new instances as needed for load testing and upgrades, without disrupting existing environments. We automated builds and release deployment such that authorized developers can deploy at the click of a button in the test environments. We implemented continuous quality practices that enabled us to provide weekly production rollouts, that allowed the client to meet their business’ time-to-market goals. Some of the technologies involved include AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, Liferay EE 6.1/6.2, Apache Tomcat, Apache Zookeeper, Apache Solr, Jenkins, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Maven, Selenium, and JMeter.
